Manchester United have no chance of signing Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig during the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils are likely to pursue a centre-back this summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wanting a new partner for Harry Maguire.
Upamecano has been regularly mentioned as a target, but Bild's Christian Falk has revealed that United have no chance of landing him.
Bayern Munich are already in talks with the player's representatives as well as Leipzig and they are leading the race to sign him.
Elsewhere, Upamecano has the preference to remain in the German top-flight than moving to a new league where he may struggle to adapt quickly.
His current contract has a release clause worth £38m which will become active at the end of the campaign.
Bayern's hierarchy have already given the green light to sign the player and an agreement could be finalised in the coming months.
Upamecano has also been linked with Chelsea and Liverpool and they appear set to miss out on his signature as well.
