Manchester United want Real Madrid star to partner Harry Maguire?
Manchester United have identified Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane as a potential candidate to partner Harry Maguire.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has regularly gone with Victor Lindelof and Maguire in the central defence, and they have impressed as a pair.
However, it has been regularly claimed that Solskjaer wants a new partner for Maguire, and it appears that Varane is on the club's radar.
United failed to sign Varane from Lens in 2011 before he made the move to Los Blancos. They attempted again in 2019 without much success.
It seems that they are back in the hunt for the Frenchman whose contract with Madrid expires at the end of next season.
So far, he has not agreed to any extension, but reports claim that Los Blancos won't sell him for anything less than £60m this summer.
Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 2018 World Cup winner, who is currently on the sidelines after testing positive for COVID-19.
