United to double Fernandes' wages?

Manchester United are prepared to double the wages of midfielder Bruno Fernandes following his impressive showing over the past 16 months.

The Portuguese joined the club from Sporting Lisbon in January last year, and he has since been their best performer.

He has accumulated 39 goals and 25 assists from just 76 appearances, and the club are now looking to reward him for his efforts.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are aware of the interest from Juventus in Fernandes, but they have no desire to sell.

It is added that they will reward the midfielder with a new long-term deal, which would double his current £100,000-a-week salary.

Fernandes has bagged 17 goals in the top-flight this term, and his most recent one came during the 2-1 win over Aston Villa.

United recently progressed to the Europa League final against Villarreal in Gdansk, and Fernandes will have a key role to play.

The Red Devils will be aiming to end a four-year trophy drought.
