Liverpool near move to Manuel Locatelli

Italy international Manuel Locatelli is on the verge of completing a move to Liverpool, according to multiple reports. The 23-year-old was unable to agree a move to Juventus.
Locatelli starred for Italy during their Euro 2020 winning campaign and has caught the eye of numerous European top sides, including Arsenal, who were reported to have tabled a 23 million euro bid for the Lecce-born midfielder. However, with Arsenal having supposedly completed their summer of transfer business, Locatelli now looks set to make a move to Premier League rivals Liverpool, who are on the look out for a replacement for Giorgio Wijnaldum, who has already made a move to Paris St Germain. The transfer fee reportedly agreed is close to 24 million euros.
The Italian had been expected to make a move to Sassuolo's rivals Juventus, but it is understood the Serie A side were unwilling to match Sassuolo's valuation. With that in mind, Locatelli's future team now looks set to be the Anfield giants, and a deal could be announced as soon as this week, according to Sky Italia.
