Manchester United midfielder seals Flamengo loan move
Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira is set to join Brazilian champions Flamengo on a season-long loan.
The Brazilian spent the previous season on loan with Lazio, but struggled for game time throughout the campaign.
He was recently linked with a possible switch to Everton, but Flamengo have now won the race for his services.
The Serie A giants have agreed a straight-loan deal for the midfielder, who has one international cap with Brazil.
Pereira's career has been on a downward spiral since his loan stint at Valencia. He will hope to redeem himself at his new club.
He is likely to fill the void left by midfielder Gerson, who made the return to European football with Marseille last month.
Pereira will be hoping to use the temporary stint as a benchmark to attract interest from European clubs next summer.
A number of Flamengo players have also made the cut for Brazil, and Pereira has the platform to impress manager Tite.
