Man Utd agree fee to sign 25-year-old international star

Manchester United have reportedly finalised a transfer fee with Barcelona for midfielder Frenkie de Jong.

The Red Devils have identified him as their main summer target, and they have now agreed a fee with the Blaugrana.

The Mancunian giants have accepted to pay €75m up front with a further €10m in the form of performance add-ons.

Despite this, a transfer is far from completed as they would need to convince De Jong over a move to Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old is insistent on remaining with the Blaugrana this summer, and has made it clear to his representative.

Furthermore, he wants to play Champions League football which United are not in a position to offer him next season.

Hence, the Red Devils have their work cut out to sign him this summer. De Jong appears firm on his ambition to stay put.

Chelsea are a club that the midfielder would consider, but the Blues are yet to make any kind of proposal for his services.
