Chelsea pushing to sign World Cup finalist?
Chelsea are determined to land Borussia Monchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram during the ongoing transfer window.
The Frenchman has had a top campaign for the Bundesliga outfit, registering 13 goals and four assists from 17 games.
He also had a good experience at the World Cup finals and reports claim that Chelsea want to pursue his services this month.
They are ready to pay to meet the €15m price tag set by Borussia Monchengladbach, but Thuram prefers to stay.
The former Guingamp graduate has less than six months left in his deal and appears willing to run down his contract.
This would offer him the opportunity to command a huge signing-on fee. There could be a lot of interest in signing him.
Manchester United and Inter Milan have also been linked with Thuram, but prefer to sign him on a free transfer instead.
It remains to be seen whether the Blues can persuade Thuram to join them this month. They need more firepower up front.
