Manchester United are ready to open contract talks with Facundo Pellistri, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Uruguayan youngster made his United debut earlier in the year and he has since featured occasionally under manager Erik ten Hag.

The hierarchy are prepared to loan him out next season but ahead of this, talks are expected with his agent over a new long-term deal.

His representative is due in the English capital over the coming days. United want to hand a fresh long-term contract with a pay hike.

Pellistri has yet to become a regular with the Red Devils but Ten Hag is very happy with him and believes he can develop into a top player.

Aside from Pellistri, Anthony Elanga is also expected to be loaned out for the 2023/24 season after struggling for regular minutes this term.

Elanga was on the radar of Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in January, but United made it clear that they did not want to sell him.
