Man Utd defender close to penning new contract
Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot is reportedly on the verge of penning a new long-term contract.
The right-back was a mainstay in the starting line-up for United before the World Cup but he has shared his minutes this year.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka has got the regular nod over him in recent months but United are still happy to keep the Portuguese star.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 24-year-old is set to end speculation over his future by penning a new long-term contract.
Dalot's current deal expires in the summer of 2024. He is expected to sign a fresh four-year contract with a significant pay rise.
The Portuguese was an undisputed starter under Erik ten Hag during the first half of the season but has lost his place lately.
Nonetheless, he is well suited for the Dutchman with his attacking playing style and could reclaim his starting position in future.
Dalot could start the final Premier League game of the season against Fulham. Wan-Bissaka could be rested for the FA Cup final.
