Man Utd confirm key player is out of Arsenal clash
Manchester United have confirmed that Raphael Varane won't be available for the Premier League clash against Arsenal on Sunday.
The Frenchman suffered an injury in the 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend. He was substituted at the half-time break.
United have now revealed that the World Cup winner is sidelined for a few weeks and is therefore unavailable for the Gunners game.
The news is a big blow for the Red Devils, considering Varane and Lisandro Martinez are the best central defensive pairing for the club.
In Varane's absence, Victor Lindelof is expected to start in the heart of the defence and the Swede will need to produce a strong display.
United are winless in the last six years at the Emirates Stadium, but the Red Devils will be hoping to end the barren run this time around.
Lindelof has not conceded a single goal this season in his two substitute appearances, but Sunday will present a tougher challenge.
