Man Utd make plans to sign Monaco star in January

Youssouf Fofana news

Fofana to Man Utd?

Manchester United have set their sights on signing Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils explored a deal for the Frenchman last summer, but a deal did not materialise. Their bid to sign him on loan was rejected.

The club ended up landing Sofyan Amrabat on loan instead but the Moroccan has been a huge disappointment during the early months.

Hence, the hierarchy are open to investing in January. They could receive financial backing from Sir Jim Ratcliffe after his minority investment.

Fofana remains the top target to strengthen the midfield department and it is claimed that he could be available for a fee of around €30 million.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the midfielder, but United remain confident of beating the competition to his services.

If Fofana were to join the club in the New Year, there is a good possibility that Casemiro could be shown the exit door in the same window.
