Virgil van Dijk says only Liverpool were looking to win the game
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has aimed a dig at Manchester United following the goalless Premier League draw at Anfield.
The Reds started the matchday at the top of the table, but were unable to hold onto their position after a frustrating draw versus United.
They had 34 attempts on goal compared to United's six, but failed to break the deadlock. Speaking after the game, Van Dijk said that there was only one team looking to win.
He told Sky Sports: "100 percent. If you see how we played the game, we had most of the ball and created some opportunities. There was only one team trying to win the game."
With the draw, Liverpool have dropped to second in the league table, one point behind new leaders Arsenal, who they host in the Premier League next weekend.
United, on the other hand, are lying in seventh with 28 points, 11 adrift of the top but most importantly, they are now within six points of Manchester City for the fourth spot.
