Man Utd favourites to sign another Atalanta star

Manchester United are favourites to sign Atalanta centre-back Giorgio Scalvini at the end of the campaign.

The Red Devils are expected to pursue a marquee central defender this summer with Raphael Varane set to leave the club.

Varane's current deal expires at the end of June. As things stand, the hierarchy have no plans of negotiating fresh terms with him.

A number of big names have been linked with United and Calciomercato claim that Scalvini could make the move to Old Trafford.

Atalanta currently value the 20-year-old at €50m. This is a fee which Juventus and AC Milan are reluctant to pay during the summer.

Hence, he is more likely to move abroad ahead of next season and it is claimed that United have the best chance of landing him.

United have already signed Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo from Atalanta. Scalvini could become the next player to swap Bergamo for Manchester at the end of the campaign.
