Man Utd to battle it out with Arsenal for Spanish left-back

Manchester United could go head-to-head with Arsenal in the pursuit of Girona left-back Miguel Gutierrez this summer.

The 22-year-old has been in impressive form for the La Liga outfit this term, registering one goal and six assists from 30 games.

The Spaniard has also caught the eye with his accurate distribution and it is claimed that Arsenal and United could compete for his services.

Girona have yet to set an asking price for their prized asset, but there is a possibility that they could lose him for cheap to Real Madrid first.

Madrid have a €8 million buy back clause in the contract of Gutierrez and they could sign him and look for an instant profit this summer.

This may not be a good thing for United or the Gunners. United may see him as a replacement for the injury-plagued Luke Shaw.

It could be something similar at Arsenal. Gutierrez could be a replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has been injury-prone too.
