Agent of Arsenal midfielder breaks silence on contract talks

The agent of midfielder Jorginho has said that talks will start with Arsenal over a new contract beyond June.

The Italy international joined the Gunners from Chelsea in January last year, and he has been a quality performer.

The 32-year-old has delivered plenty of stand-out performances and he has quickly become a fan favourite.

Despite this, there is uncertainty over his future at the club, considering his current deal expires on June 30.

Arsenal have the option to extend for another 12 months, but as things stand, they have not triggered the clause.

When pressed on the situation, his agent Joao Santos said: "We will discuss with Arsenal about his contract being due to expire in June, it's our priority.

"Arsenal have fantastic group and we will see if they need him for next season. Returning to Italy? Why not? One day maybe."

Jorginho is currently on the radar of Serie A giants Juventus, who are looking into a possible pre-contract agreement.

Arsenal have the option of keeping Jorginho for next season, but could decide to release him based on their summer plans.
