Juventus want Xabi Alonso

Jean-Claude Blanc, Juventus' general director, has reportedly flied to England to discuss terms with Liverpool over the projected transfer of Spanish international midfielder Xabi Alonso.

Juventus have been tracking Alonso since January, when the Spaniard was first linked with a move away from Anfield.

Juventus are preparing the finishing touches to an enormous £12 million offer for the midfielder, and the former Sociedad man is believed to be nterested in a move away.

Benitez has already previously admitted a move elsewhere could be the preferred option for the Spaniard.
