Martin Zubimendi breaks silence on Liverpool snub
Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi has said that he does not regret snubbing a move to Liverpool this summer.
The Merseyside giants were prepared to pay the £50 million release clause in Zubimendi's deal, but a deal did not materialise in the end.
Zubimendi initially asked time to make a decision, but he eventually decided to stay at Sociedad despite being on lower wages.
The Spaniard has now revealed that he has no regrets over his choice and it was the best thing to do on a personal point of view.
He said: "Of course I don't regret it, I can't think that after four or five games at the start of the season. I made my decision from within, I thought it was the best thing to do, the results don't affect me."
Liverpool have been brilliant in the early part of the campaign and they are currently top of the Premier League with 15 points.
Sociedad, on the other hand, have struggled in La Liga. They are languishing in the 14th spot with only eight points.
