Maresca praises Chelsea duo after unbelievable displays vs Newcastle

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on midfield duo Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia following a 2-1 Premier League win over Newcastle United.

The Blues returned to winning ways in the top-flight with a victory over the Magpies. Lavia was once again picked to partner Caicedo in midfield and the duo were quite impressive.

Speaking after the game, Maresca praised the contribution of the pair in the centre of the park.

He said: "Romeo, Moi, they both did well. I'm very happy with the performance because for some moments on the ball, we were unbelievable."

Chelsea temporarily moved into the top four with the win, but they are now fifth in the standings, one point behind London rivals Arsenal.

The Blues will be in League Cup action against Newcastle United on the road in midweek before facing Manchester United at Old Trafford.

It promises to be a crucial week for the west London outfit and Maresca will obviously ring in the changes for the Cup game on Wednesday.
