Chelsea midfielder will return from injury next week

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has revealed that midfielder Romeo Lavia could be available for the FA Cup third round tie against Morecambe next week.

The Blues have been in poor run of league form and they have picked up just two points from the previous four matches. As a result, the club are fourth in the table, just one point ahead of Newcastle United.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace, Maresca revealed that Lavia has been recovering well from his hamstring injury and could be available next week.

He said: "Hopefully he can be involved next game."

Chelsea started the season on a positive note, but their form has nosedived during the festive period. The club are no longer contenders to challenge for the league title.

The Blues have an entire week to prepare for the FA Cup tie and Maresca will be eyeing a strong performance when his team take on Morecambe next Saturday.
