Man Utd want to beat Liverpool to signing £33m Dutch star
Manchester United are determined to beat Liverpool to the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong, according to TBR Football.
The Netherlands international has been brilliant from the right wing-back role for Leverkusen. He has 15 goal contributions in the current campaign.
Frimpong has decided to pursue a new challenge in the summer and reports claim that he has a release clause worth £33 million on his contract.
Liverpool have earmarked him as a potential replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract expires at the end of June.
However, the Red Devils could hijack their pursuit with manager Ruben Amorim eager to add another right wing-back option in the squad.
Amad Diallo, Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot have taken turns in the role, but neither have been consistent enough with goal involvements.
Frimpong would be an upgrade on Mazraoui and Dalot in particular. He is also strong defensively, having started his career as a right-back.
