Chelsea agree deal to sign wonderkid for €40m

Chelsea have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign teenage defender Jorrel Hato for €40 million, according to journalist David Ornstein.

The Blues have focused on signing the Netherlands international over the past two weeks and they have eventually secured an agreement.

Hato has also agreed personal terms to join the west London giants, and he is expected to undergo his medical with the Blues in the next few days.

Once done, the 19-year-old will put pen-to-paper on a seven-year contract.

The Blues are expected to continue their spending spree and they are already in advanced talks with the agents of RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons.

Simons has opened the door for a move to Stamford Bridge and the Blues are expected to open formal negotiations to purchase the attacker soon.

The Bundesliga giants are holding out for €70m to part ways with the versatile ace, but Chelsea are optimistic of negotiating a lesser fee for him.
