Chelsea eye move for Russian goalkeeper
Daniil Khudyakov is a surprise target for Chelsea, as the 21-year-old Russian under-21 international goalkeeper looks set to leave Austrian club Sturm Graz this transfer window. Khudyakov is very highly rated and seen as a future full international, and could be signed for a fee of around £8 million, adding further competition to Chelsea's goalkeeping ranks.
Khudyakov emerged through Kazanka Moscow's youth team, before transferring to Lokomotiv, then opting to leave Russia for a chance in Europe with Sturm Graz. The Austrian club were able to sign the Russian on a free transfer as his contract expired, and signed a four-year deal with the Austrian Bundesliga outfit.
The Blues are looking for a third goalkeeper to provide cover for Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen, and current third choice keeper Gabriel Slonina could leave on loan before the transfer window closes.
Chelsea expect to bring Khudyakov to Stamford Bridge before the September 1st transfer window deadline, and in signing the keeper will be bringing in one of the hottest goalkeeping prospects in the world.
