Real Madrid have won race to sign Chelsea target

Real Madrid have reportedly won the race to sign Chelsea target Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich next summer.
The Frenchman is about to enter the final six years of his contract and he has yet to be convinced to renew his contract at Bayern.
Amidst this, it is claimed that Los Blancos have reached a verbal agreement with Upamecano to join them on a free next summer.
The former Leipzig man can't finalise a pre-contract until January, but he has reportedly given his word to the La Liga heavyweights.
The news is a huge setback for Chelsea, who recently made contact with the player's representative to negotiate a potential move.
Manchester United and Liverpool have likewise been linked with the player, but they are now likely to miss out on his signature.
Ibrahima Konate has been linked with Madrid in recent weeks amid his contract stand-off at Liverpool, but he could end up renewing with the Reds.
