Mainoo to Napoli in January?

Napoli are reportedly determined to land Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo on loan during the winter transfer window.

The England international was eager to leave the Mancunian giants on a temporary deal last summer, but the Red Devils did not grant his request.

Mainoo has since struggled for playing time under manager Ruben Amorim, and he could push for a new challenge in the New Year.

The club graduate has his sights on playing for England at the World Cup and he needs regular playing time to earn a call-up from Thomas Tuchel.

Napoli have already loaned out Rasmus Hojlund from United with a conditional obligation to buy. They plan to purchase him this winter.

In the process, they are also keen on negotiating a loan deal for Mainoo. The Serie A giants could discuss an option to purchase him next summer.

Napoli have three former United stars in Hojlund, Romelu Lukaku and Scott McTominay in their ranks and could add Mainoo to their squad soon.
