Berger joins Sparta Prague

Patrik Berger has completed a move back to his homeland as he joined Sparta Prague on a permanent deal. The former Aston Villa man was released at the end of the season, and is now set to play in the Czech leagues again next year.

The 34 year old will add much experience to an inexperienced squad.

"I think I have made the right decision." Sparta president Jozef Chovanec added: "He grew up at Sparta and he still has considerable talent.

"He is a player of European quality who can be an inspiration to other players."
