Arsenal favourites to sign Real Madrid wonderkid

Arsenal are reportedly favourites to sign Real Madrid wonderkid Victor Valdepenas when the transfer window reopens at the end of the campaign.

The Gunners have been keeping tabs on the young Spaniard for the past few months and AS claim that they are the front-runners to land his services.

The north London giants have not dropped their interest in the teenager and are prepared to accelerate their pursuit closer to the transfer window.

AC Milan, Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are likewise keeping tabs, but Arsenal are reportedly the most interested at the moment.

Valdepenas has made just one first-team appearance for Los Blancos, but he is a player with huge potential and can play in multiple positions too.

The youngster is primarily a left-back but can operate as a centre-back as well. His versatility is a prime reason behind the Gunners' pursuit.

Valdepenas could be signed for a fee of around €25 million. Madrid are likely to cash in on the versatile defender for such an amount.
