Chelsea & Liverpool want to sign Brazilian defender

Chelsea and Liverpool are prepared to battle it out for the signature of Nottingham Forest defender Murillo at the end of the campaign, according to Teamtalk.

The Brazil international has been one of the best-performing centre-backs in the Premier League over the last 22 months and he has been tipped to pursue a bigger challenge.

The Blues have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old for some time, and they are now set to face fierce competition from the Reds for the highly-rated central defender.

Forest are aware of the increasing interest in their prized asset and they are expected to hold out for at least 65 million euros at the end of the season.

Manchester United have also been linked with the talented ace, but they are exploring a cheaper option with Harry Maguire set to stay next term.

Maguire has almost agreed to pen a renewal beyond the summer after his tremendous turnaround under interim manager Michael Carrick this year.
