Chelsea make final transfer decision on Marcos Senesi

Chelsea have made a final transfer decision on Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi ahead of the summer, according to BBC Sport.

The Blues are planning to bolster their backline this summer and seem to be targeting a reliable partner for Levi Colwill in central defence.

Senesi has been linked with the Blues in recent days, but the hierarchy are not planning an approach for the Argentina international.

The 28-year-old has made several defensive contributions for the Cherries, but he is not the best when it comes to defending set-pieces.

He has an evident weakness in the air from set plays, and the Blues prefer a more physical solution to partner Colwill next campaign.

Senesi could still make the move to an elite Premier League side when his contract with Bournemouth expires at the end of June this year.

Manchester United have also made contact with his entourage and could propose a lucrative contract offer to the experienced centre-back.
