Arsenal & Chelsea want to sign ex-Forest midfielder

Arsenal and Chelsea are exploring a summer move for former Nottingham Forest midfielder Danilo, according to Globo in Brazil.

The 25-year-old joined Botafogo from Forest last summer and has managed to transform his career with them.

He spent much of the time on the sidelines in the back end of last year, but has been brilliant for Botafogo since the start of the new campaign.

Danilo has 10 goals and three assists from just 22 appearances this season, and his performances have grabbed attention from Europe too.

Arsenal have made direct contact with his agents, while Chelsea are also in the mix. The midfielder could be allowed to leave for €40 million.

Danilo is open to securing a return to Premier League football, having previously struggled to become a regular with the Tricky Trees.

The Brazilian arrived at Forest in 2023 when they were battling relegation and lost his starting spot in the previous campaign before a summer sale.
