Tottenham in shock transfer move for Eduardo Camavinga?

Tottenham are being linked with a shock move for Eduardo Camavinga, in what would be one of the most ambitious transfers of the summer if Spurs decide to make it serious.
The Real Madrid midfielder is not the kind of player usually expected to become available. He is 23, already a Champions League winner, a France international and still under contract at the Bernabeu until 2029. On talent alone, he should be viewed as one of Madrid's long-term midfield pillars. But with competition for places fierce and Real Madrid continuing to refresh their squad, the possibility of a major Premier League offer has created a fresh rumour around his future.
For Tottenham, the attraction is obvious. Camavinga would instantly raise the technical and athletic level of their midfield. He can play as a No.6, as a No.8, and has even covered at left-back for Real Madrid. That versatility would make him hugely valuable in the Premier League, where Spurs need players who can handle intensity, press aggressively and still stay calm on the ball.
His season stats show his role has been important, even if he has not always been an automatic starter. Camavinga has made around 28 La Liga appearances this campaign, scoring once, while also featuring regularly in Europe. His numbers are not about goals and assists. They are about ball progression, recoveries, defensive coverage and press resistance. He is the type of midfielder who helps a team control chaos.
The fee would be the biggest obstacle. Some reports suggest a price in the region of £50m to €60m could be enough if Madrid were open to selling, but that still feels low for a player of Camavinga's age and reputation. His release clause is understood to be enormous, so any deal would depend entirely on Real Madrid's willingness to negotiate and the player's own desire for a new challenge.
Tottenham would also face serious competition. Manchester United have been linked, while Arsenal have also been mentioned in reports. Both clubs could offer a major platform, and United in particular may be looking for exactly this type of midfield rebuild.
