Man Utd & Arsenal vying to sign English midfielder

Manchester United and Arsenal are vying to land the signature of Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott this summer, according to The Daily Mail.

The Englishman played in multiple midfield roles last campaign, but he was particularly brilliant as a number six. The Cherries are adamant that they don't want to sell him and prefer to renew his stay.

However, the South Coast outfit are known to be a selling club and reports claim that a package of around £80 million could pave the way for his exit. It is now revealed that United and Arsenal are keen.

Both clubs have been monitoring him closely over the last few months and could go head-to-head to land the services of the former Bristol City man.

Arsenal were initially keen on Mateus Fernandes, but were put off by the £85m valuation. Man Utd have likewise refused to pay such a fee.

Hence, neither club could be willing to meet Scott's valuation, and a deal may not be on the cards unless the Cherries lower their demands.
