Man Utd preparing bid to sign £43m Arsenal target

Manchester United are preparing a bid to sign Arsenal target and Roma midfielder Manu Kone this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Frenchman had a superb season for the Giallorossi in Serie A, and he has continued to excel for Les Bleus at the ongoing World Cup.

His reputation has been greatly enhanced, and reports claim that United are now weighing up a formal approach for the 25-year-old ace.

Roma are aware of the increasing interest in their prized asset, but they are unlikely to sell him on the cheap and will demand at least £43m.

Arsenal and Newcastle are also keeping tabs on the French ace, but their interest is not as advanced as the Red Devils' at the moment.

Kone has his sights on playing in the Premier League next term and it was a reason behind his decision to snub a move to Atletico Madrid.

Atletico have gone on to sign Sporting CP's Morten Hjulmand.
