Man Utd want to sign Wolves star after Ederson snub

Manchester United are exploring a transfer for Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Joao Gomes, according to Globo in Brazil.
The Red Devils were close to landing Ederson from Atalanta, but they have pulled out of negotiations due to concerns over his fitness.
Ederson picked up a long-term knee injury last season, and United have concerns that the Brazilian could suffer a recurrence.
Hence, they have pulled the plug on the deal and have now earmarked Gomes as a potential backup target to the 26-year-old ace.
Gomes has long been linked with a move to the Red Devils, and Wolves are prepared to sell him for around £38 million this summer.
Liverpool are likewise long-term admirers of the former Flamengo man and there could be a bidding war between the league rivals.
Gomes is also attracting interest from abroad, but he would prefer to continue in the Premier League after Wolves' relegation.
The Brazilian looks poised to leave Wolves in the near future.
