Man Utd make Mason Mount transfer decision

Manchester United have no plans of parting ways with midfielder Mason Mount following his strong end to the previous campaign.

The England international has suffered from plenty of injuries during his time at the Red Devils, but he had a good conclusion to last term.

Mount played in a deeper midfield role when Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro were ruled out, and he caught the eye with his overall displays.

It is now reported that manager Michael Carrick was impressed by Mount's showing and he has decided to keep him in the squad next term.

Mount could potentially start the opening game of the new Premier League campaign, given the lack of senior options at the moment.

Kobbie Mainoo is still away on World Cup duty and will be due a three-week break once he returns from the tournament with England.

Meanwhile, Casemiro has left on a free transfer, while Manuel Ugarte has been ruled out for the long-term with a serious knee injury.

Andrey Santos is expected to join from Chelsea in the coming days, but he is still relatively inexperienced and has a huge challenge ahead.
