Atalanta make new Ederson decision after Man Utd snub

Serie A giants Atalanta have offered a new long-term contract to Ederson after his dream move to Manchester United collapsed last week.
The Brazil international was expected to join United earlier this summer after they agreed a verbal deal of around £39 million with Atalanta.
However, the transfer did not materialise due to concerns over his injured knee from last season. United pulled the plug on the proposed deal.
Ederson was reportedly distraught by United's decision and journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Serie A club will seek to renew his contract.
Ederson's current deal expires in June next year, meaning they risk losing him on a free transfer from the beginning of 2027.
Atalanta would ideally prefer to keep Ederson after the transfer setback, but would want assurances from him in the form of a new contract.
It remains to be seen whether the midfielder commits to Atalanta or pushes for a new challenge with another European club this summer.
