Arsenal set to open talks to sign England star

Arsenal are prepared to open negotiations with Aston Villa to land winger Morgan Rogers, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have made just one signing in goalkeeper Illan Meslier on a free transfer, but more arrivals are expected to be on the way.

Rogers is reportedly on the cusp of agreeing on personal terms with the Gunners, and talks are set to start with the Villans as well.

The Europa League champions want a staggering £130m for the versatile attacker, but Arsenal are optimistic of landing him for less.

They are expected to hold formal talks with the Midlands outfit soon and a package of around £110m could be agreed for the player.

Arsenal are already making progress towards bolstering the left wing. They have agreed a verbal deal with Club Brugge for Christos Tzolis.

Tzolis is expected to travel to north London to undergo his medical before penning a five-year contract on wages worth £80,000 per week.
