Man Utd ready to pay big money for Nott Forest star

Manchester United are prepared to make a big-money move for Nottingham Forest centre-back Murillo next year, according to Teamtalk.

The Red Devils did not pursue a new central defender over the summer, but they are expected to find a fresh solution by the end of the season.

Lisandro Martinez is presently the undisputed choice in the left centre-back role, but his injury concerns have been a worry for some period of time.

United's hierarchy are assessing whether to hand a new contract to the Argentine, and there is a possibility that he could be sold next summer.

Amidst this, the club are keeping a close eye on Murillo and could be prepared to spend big to prise him away from the Tricky Trees.

Murillo was valued at around £80m 12 months ago, but there is expectation that he could be signed for a lesser fee at the end of the campaign.

A deal could be done for £60m including add-ons.
