Liverpool favourites to sign Bournemouth star

Liverpool have now emerged as the frontrunners to sign Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in January, according to The Daily Mail.

The England international was linked with multiple Premier League clubs last summer, but the Cherries were adamant that he was not for sale.

However, he is likely to move on at the turn of the year. The Cherries are prepared to sell him for around £100m, with his contract expiring in June 2028.

Chelsea were touted to be favourites over the summer, but the scenario has now changed with the Reds leading the pursuit of the player.

The Merseyside giants are in the 'driving seat' to sign the Bristol City graduate, given his close relationship with manager Andoni Iraola.

Iraola played a big part in Scott's development at Bournemouth, and a reunion could be on the cards when the transfer window reopens.

The Cherries are braced for the midfielder's exit, but their stance could change if they find themselves in a relegation battle this winter.
