Moises Caicedo doubtful for Sunderland game

Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo is doubtful for the Premier League match against Sunderland on Sunday with a calf problem.

The Ecuador international sustained the minor injury in the win over Manchester United last weekend and has since missed training.

Speaking to reporters, Alonso revealed that the midfielder is experiencing discomfort in his calf and will need to be assessed further.

He said: "He was after the last game, he had little problems. We expect to check tomorrow. Moi is one of them. It's a discomfort, more than the calf."

Caicedo had an injury-plagued start to the campaign, and he barely played for the west London giants until the first international break.

Since the restart, he has been an integral part of the starting plans, but now appears to be a big doubt to feature against the Black Cats on the road.

Sunderland are rock-bottom of the league standings, but they are still a difficult opposition at home. Chelsea need to play at their best to win.
