Atletico in contact with Valencia

Atletico Madrid chief Jesus Garcias Pitarch has admitted that they have been in contact with Valencia over a possible deal for striker David Villa.

Atletico shall play in the UEFA Champions League next season and have been busy strengthening their squad.

David Villa has been linked with several major European clubs such as Chelsea and Real Madrid but this is the first time that Atletico Madrid's name has been thrwon into the mix.

"There has been some light contact," revealed Pitarch, "but we are calm.

"For now, the squad is complete, though we have tried to add a great player for the new season."
