Gordon Taylor backs FA Chairman Greg Dyke to succeed
The head of the Professional Footballer's Association Gordon Taylor has backed the new FA Chairman Greg Dyke over his recent feedback regarding the future of English football.
Earlier, Dyke had called for a revision to be made to the home-grown players rule, as he illustrated his plans to assist the English national side in winning the 2022 World Cup.
Taylor has agreed with the idea of having more English players in the Premier League, and insists that every country in the European continent should have thoughts over the same.
Taylor told PA Sport : "Throughout the world, and of course in England, there should be a duty to the next generation.
"Their aspirations to reach the top level should become a reality if they are good enough and not remain a dream. The current 'home-grown' rules are just paying lip service to the idea - they don't have any real impact.
"I believe there should be four home-grown players in every starting eleven, and it should apply at least in Europe, but ideally across the world. FIFA and UEFA have to address this along with us in England."
However, the Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson refused to interfere into the issue as he claimed to have been concentrating on the national side's upcoming fixtures.

Chairman of the Football Association Greg Dyke has insisted that it is 'unrealistic' to expect the England national team to win the 2014 FIFA World Cup held in Brazil.
Dyke gave his first interview as the Football Association chairman yesterday, claiming that the Premier League is composed of too many foreign owners, managers as well as players, which prevents the English national side from developing.
Dyke also feels that the Three Lions should set an objective of winning the 2022 World Cup.
Dyke told BBC Sport : "It doesn't mean we can't do well in Brazil as long as we qualify.
