Aston Villa join race to sign former Chelsea striker

Aston Villa have reportedly joined the likes of West Bromwich Albion and Hull City in the pursuit for Senegalese international Demba Ba.

The Villans boss Paul Lambert is keen on bolstering his strike force before the conclusion of the transfer window, having seen his side score just 11 goals in 22 league games this season.

According to The Mirror, Ba is high on the radar of several Premier League games, following his good form for Besiktas this season.

In addition to this, Villa are regarded as front-runners to sign up the Senegal international before the transfer deadline on February 2.

Ba has notched up 14 goals in 20 games for the Turkish giants this season.
