Arsenal sign Gabriel Paulista

Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Gabriel Paulista from Villareal for an undisclosed fee.

The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger had revealed that the club were close to sealing a deal for the talented centre-back following Joel Campbell's temporary move to Villareal as part of the transfer agreement.

It is believed that the North London side paid a fee in the region of £15m for the 24-year-old, who was granted a work permit earlier this week.

Paulista revealed his delight at joining a top club in the Premier League.

"A while ago I had a really huge desire to play in the Premier League, so since that point I put it in my head that I really wanted to do it. had a talk with my family and I told them that it was my dream to play in the Premier League. Getting here to such a big club is so gratifying." He told the club's official website.

Paulista is yet to represent the Brazilian senior side.
