New Man Utd contract for Michael Carrick
New Man Utd contract for Michael Carrick
England international Michael Carrick is set to extend his stay at Manchester United beyond the summer. The 35-year-old had caught the eye of the likes of Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United amid claims that he could leave on a Bosman next month.
Recent speculation suggested that the veteran midfielder could bid adieu to the FA Cup holders after the club's hierarchy displayed no interest in discussing terms with his representatives.
However, in a fresh twist to the story, Carrick could earn himself a much earned extension once Jose Mourinho is appointed as the club's next manager.
United are currently in advanced negotiations with the 'Special One' and a deal is likely to be confirmed in the next 48 hours.
Carrick has amassed over 400 appearances for the Mancunian giants since his move from Tottenham Hotspur ten years ago.
