Liverpool sign Loris Karius
Liverpool have completed the signing of Loris Karius from German side Mainz for a reported fee of around £4.7m. The German goalkeeper has inked a five-year contract with the Merseyside giants.
Karius, 22, will provide the much-needed competition to Belgian international Simon Mignolet, who has been inconsistent over the past year.
The shot-stopper is the Reds' third addition for the summer with Schalke's Joel Matip and Red Star Belgrade youngster Marko Grujic having already agreed to join the famous old club.
"It's a very good feeling and it's an honour to play for a club like this," he told LFC TV.
"Anfield is a special atmosphere, so [I know] a lot of stuff. I still remember the Champions League final against Milan.
"There a lot of things in my head when I think of this club."
Jurgen Klopp's side will have no European football to play for next season after they finished eighth in the league standings while also missing out on lifting the Europa League crown.
