Arsene Wenger speaks out on Sanchez future

Wenger: There is only 'one team in London' for Sanchez

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that Alexis Sanchez is happy at the Emirates despite recent speculation linking him with a switch to local rivals Chelsea.

The Chile international is yet to pen a contract extension with the north London giants, and this has spread speculation over his future with his current deal due to expire in a year's time.

In a recent report from Sky Sports, Sanchez gave a minor hint that he could be off to Chelsea in the future as he wants to play for a club in London with 'a winning mentality'.

However, when pressed on the gossip during today's press conference, manager Arsene Wenger jokingly ruled out possibility citing that there is only 'one team in London' Sanchez could play for.

"In a positive way, there's only one team in London, so he's happy," the Frenchman told reporters. "I have not a lot to add. I think he's happy here. We have not extended his contract yet, but I hope he will stay at the club.

Wenger added that the club are in a better position than in previous years where they had to offload their key players, and he is hopeful that both Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will ink long-term deals.

The long-standing Frenchman was also questioned on his future for which he insisted that he has made his mind up on what he wishes to do next.
