AC Milan have pushed through a deal for Algerian international midfielder Ismael Bennacer this afternoon, with the Serie A side announcing a 15 million euro transfer for the 21-year-old youngster, who arrives from Italian rivals Empoli. Bennacer caught the eye in the recent Africa Nations Cup, where his country went on to win the whole tournament.

It is understood that Bennacer's deal will also mean a mini windfall for Arsenal, with the Gunners set to recoup 3.75 million euros as part of the transfer of the midfielder due to a sell on clause in the contract. Bennacer had a two year spell in North London, playing for Arsenal's reserve side between 2015 and 2017.

AC Milan executive Ivan Gazidis had moved quickly to secure one of the brightest young prospects in Italy with a move for Bennacer. It is understood that Milan will continue their shopping all the way through to the end of the transfer window. AC Milan have already agreed deals for Rafael Leao, Theo Hernandez and Rade Krunic this summer,w ith their spending now up to 52 million euros.
