Chelsea full-back makes decision to leave permanently

Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen has made the decision to leave the club permanently when the transfer window reopens this summer.

The club graduate is currently on a short-term loan at Borussia Dortmund from the Blues where he has registered two goals and two assists.

The Bundesliga outfit are hugely impressed by his progress at the club and they are prepared to secure his services on a permanent basis.

Maatsen currently has a £35 million release clause in his contract and reports claim that Dortmund will trigger the figure in the next transfer window.

The Dutchman has already conveyed his decision to the Blues and it is only a matter of time before he makes the permanent switch to Dortmund.

Chelsea will benefit from the same this summer. They stand to make pure profile from his sale, considering he graduated through their ranks.

Aside from Maatsen, the likes of Trevoh Chalobah and Conor Gallagher are touted to leave the club when the transfer window reopens.
