Barry ends Villa exile

Aston Villa look set to end Gareth Barry's exile, as the player is due to return for pre-season action for the Villains. Arsenal and Liverpool have both made moves for the England international midfielder.

Barry could now be involved in Villa's Intertoto Cup match with Odense this weekend.

A statement on the club's official website read: "The club can confirm that Gareth Barry will be back in training at Bodymoor Heath tomorrow (Wednesday)."
