Argentinian international defender Gabriel Heinze has finally put his name on a contract with a club, and Roma have won the race for the player who left Marseille at the end of last season.
Everton were one of the clubs who had made an offer to Heinze, but the Argentine did not want to return to England and opted for a move to Italy instead.
Heinze said: "In previous years I have been fortunate to play at big clubs and now I again have an opportunity to play in another great squad like Roma, so I didn't waste much time in deciding to come. It's a great honour to wear this shirt.''
